ODIONGAN, ROMBLON – Philippine Information Agency published on 15 August 2019 featuring Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic expressing her appreciation to the 1,250 workers of DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged (TUPAD) for the services rendered during their 10-days contract.
In her interview, Mayor Fabic praised DOLE for the TUPAD program recognizing it as big help for the LGU’s collaborative effort in fighting against possible dengue outbreak. Workers went for massive clean-up including declogging of canals and gutters preventing the risk of dengue proliferation.
Implementation of TUPAD continues in the municipalities of Corcuera, Looc, Ferrol and San Jose with a total of 829 beneficiaries engaged in the vegetation control, road and canal cleaning, and repair and maintenance of Government facilities. They will be working for 10 days and will be earning an amount of Php320.00 per day or equivalent to Php3,200.00 each program beneficiary.
