ORIENTAL MINDORO – In its campaign against ‘endo’ and to strengthen awareness of employers and workers on this, DOLE will convene the tripartite council in Calapan City on 01 October 2019 for a social dialogue on voluntary regularization.
The tripartite dialogue aims to seek the support of the employers to eliminate labor-only contracting and other prohibited work practices. Through tripartism and in the implementation of Department Order No. 174, Series of 2017, DOLE MIMAROPA Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales is optimistic that more and more employers will resort to voluntary regularization through absorption of the contractual workers hired under illegal contracting arrangements. Their commitment to end ‘endo’ will ensure workers’ right to security of tenure and will bring more regularized workers in the province and in the MIMAROPA region.
Employers and workers from the private sector, estimated to reach 80, are expected to attend the said dialogue. Towards the end of the activity, the participants will also learn other related labor laws and latest issuances on expanded maternity leave benefit, unemployment insurance and occupational safety and health. The orientation on DOLE’s Family Welfare Program and e-learning portal on Labor and Employment Education Services will also form part of the activity.
