ODIONGAN, ROMBLON – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) released the wages of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers in the towns of Looc and Odiongan.

After 10 days of rendering service based on the approved work program, 95 and 1,180 workers from Looc and Odiongan, respectively benefitted from the DOLE TUPAD Program whom received Php3,200.00 each.

Releasing of salaries with a total amount Php4,080,000.00 was made possible through coordination with the Public Employment Service Offices of the said municipalities.

TUPAD is DOLE’s community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, who will work for 10-30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed. Workers were assigned in sandbagging, dredging, estero cleaning and de-clogging, and street cleaning activities in town.
