The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Palawan Field Office facilitated the payment amounting to Php7,328,000.00 for 854 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries in the municipalities of Roxas, Taytay and El Nido, Palawan. Likewise, 160 workers from El Nido, 269 workers from Taytay and 289 from Roxas received an amount of Php9,600.00 each for a 30-day community service rendered in the various public facilities last October 5-6, 2019. Meanwhile, 136 beneficiaries from Brgy. Salvacion, in the municipality of Roxas received Php3,200.00 each last October 12, 2019 for a 10-day work program.

Also known as Emergency Employment Program (EEP), identified vulnerable workers engaged in short-term social community works such as but not limited to repair, maintenance, and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure such as schools and health centers, debris clearing, de-clogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing, among others.

DOLE MIMAROPA also covered the accident insurance of these workers for one (1) year. Each worker received Php320.00/day based on the prevailing minimum wage in the MIMAROPA Region. TUPAD or EEP is a community-based (municipality/barangay) package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 90 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
